A regional view of family wellbeing

20 April 2017

Southland enjoyed its Anniversary Day earlier this week. From our Families and Whānau Status Report, we know that families in Southland have a lot to celebrate. They are more likely to have affordable housing than any other region, they are the second-most likely to do voluntary work, and family members are more likely to be satisfied with their working hours and pay. Couples with children under 18, in particular, scored above average on several economic and housing indicators compared to similar families nationwide. More information about Southland and 13 other regions is available on our website.
